Tomorrow, the jury will be out for APC and the owner of Lagos, Bola Tinubu. And. I will explain why.
I don’t know of your area, but in my area, for the first time, I could see opposition parties campaigning and pulling considerable crowds. Secondly, many councillorship candidates of other parties are really gaining grounds. This is very unusual in Lagos. In my area, it will take something special for the AD candidate not to win.
If INEC were the body to conduct this election and not the rubber stamp LASIEC, then we would have seen a major upset. It is in the air. You could feel it. Ironically, those who will probably vote for these opposition parties are Lagosians and hitherto APC members who are simply tired of being manipulated all the time by one leader sitting somewhere but deciding who will be chairman, Rep member, Senator and councillor in other areas.
Party members are really angry. I have spoken to many of them and they can’t just understand why the party could not practise what it preaches for once!
But opposition parties should not rejoice yet. Mark my words: they will have their SAY but APC and Tinubu will have their WAY! We all knew what happened in 2011. Figures changed between collation centres and Alausa. Then ACN candidates who had lost in their local governments and wards suddenly saw their names being announced as duly elected chairmen and councillors!
If you think that won’t happen again tomorrow, then you are in dreamland.
But even at that, a powerful message would have been sent to Tinubu and his gang:
NO EMPIRE LASTS FOREVER!
