Ex President Obasanjo is known not only for his out-spoken nature, but also for his penchant to take sides with nobody. It appears OBJ is friends to none –enemy to none. His victim today is none other than Goodluck Jonathan who is already in the news for receiving over 200million pounds worth of oil deal bribery.
In a series of tweets, the ex-military general seems to address Nigerians from the South-South region, or those in support of the People’s Democratic Party – who support Jonathan.
“I’m not saying Goodluck Jonathan is not YOUR Hero, but if he was reelected, Nigeria would have been looted out of the world map by now.” He wrote.
He followed that with;
“Nigeria is a very strong country. Very few countries in the world can survive the loot that happened under Goodluck Jonathan and his cohorts”
On February 20th, Obasanjo had taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari;
“This morning i wanted to ask Nigerians to pray for President Buhari, then i remember the damage thats been done to our currency”.
These attacks of his’ launched at the other leaders seem to contradict his professed personal principle of not making hurtful comments, captured in a Tweet of December 5, 2016. One would almost think the ex-General’s account has been hacked.
President Obasanjo himself is named in other hefty oil deal corruption cases like the Halliburton scandal. He has recently been reprimanded by the Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose for making self-righteous comments on corruption, when, according to the governor, he was the father of modern day corrupt practices like the ‘Ghana Must Go’ bribery scandals.
