ABUJA—AS flood continues to ravage parts of the country, the PDP Rescue Group, PRG, yesterday, began mobilisation of support from well meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations for flood victims of Benue, Adamawa, Katsina states and others.
Speaking on behalf of the group, former Minister of Water Resources, Mukhtari Shagari, said the situation of the victims demanded urgent attention and assistance.
Shagari also sympathised with the governments and people of flood ravaged states, particularly Benue, being the worst hit with 25 communities, including the state capital, Makurdi.
Shagari, who said federal and state governments should collaborate to tackle the issue holistically, said: “The leadership of PDP Rescue Group, a political pressure group has expressed its sympathy with the governments and people affected by the devastation.”
