Under the Presidential Amnesty programme, ex-Niger Delta agitators have been sent on scholarship to various Universities outside the country and some in the country. Of 45 who recently graduated from two universities in Belarus, 3 graduated with 1st Class honours in Information Technology.
This has been announced by the office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta.
Under the Amnesty programme’s educational empowerment initiative, many of the ex-militants have exhibited outstanding qualities as reported since commencement.
At the 13th Convocation ceremony of the Benson Idahosa University, Benin city, 59 of the ex-agitators graduated, with 12 bagging 1st class, 20 leaving with 2nd class upper and 29 with 2nd class lower.
