Earlier today, the Chief Security Officer at the President, Bashir Abubakar expelled the Punch correspondent Lekan Adetayo for the state house, in yet another move that seemed to reinforce sentiments  that the President opposes Press Freedom, among the Press.

Femi Adesina, The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, has come out on Twitter to dissociate the President from the action by his CSO:

“We weren’t consulted in the media office by the CSO before he expelled The Punch reporter. President Buhari is committed to press freedom

“An amicable solution would be found to The Punch reporter matter. President Buhari does not intend to uzzle the media in any way” he added.

Mr. Olalekan Adetayo was expelled from the presidential villa on Monday over a report ‘’fresh anxiety in aso rock over buhari’s ill health’’ which he authored on Sunday.
